Volksfit is an approved Volkswagen main dealer supplier and often carries out upgrades to new vehicles before they are delivered to the customers. As their business is beginning to grow they wanted to have a presence on the web where their customers could look through the services and products they supply.
Volksfits business has been steadily growing over the last few years, and customers are increasingly enquiring into the services and products available for their T5 Transporters. Volkfit were keen to have an area that could act as a catalogue for their products. They also wanted to be able to showcase customer projects to give potential customers an idea of what could be done to their vehicles. They also wanted to create a strong corporate image for their company that could be carried out throughout their website, stationery and marketing.
In order to make the site easy to maintain an update we opted for the Open Source platform WordPress. The customer had previous experience with the system which made it an ideal choice. The customer did not at present want to sell products online but would benefit from a layout similar to that of an ecommerce site. This would also make it easier for their customers to navigate the products available. We set about creating a custom plugin that would act as a catalogue with the structure and data similar to that of an ecommerce system to make the transition to an ecommerce system in the future simpler. After talking to the client about enquiries from customer it was clear that a portfolio section would be needed as would a testimonials section to build customer confidence. To make the site more accessible to search engines we included a news/blog section and included micro text markup throughout the site.
